Every Round-Up week in Red Bluff, you will see the self appointed vigilantes of
Red Bluff Rotary Sunrise arresting the good citizens of Tehama County.
It works like this, several weeks before the Red Bluff Round-Up the mayor of Red
Bluff proclaims the week leading up to the rodeo as “Rodeo Week” and he
encourages everyone to dress in western attire. The Rotarians take his
proclamation very seriously. Jessie Woods and Lou Aviles deputize over a dozen
badge-carrying-deputies who show no mercy on those individuals who ignore the
Mayor’s Proclamation. The offenders are arrested and incarcerated in the Rotary
Roving Jail. They are afforded no trial, but Woods and Aviles will accept bribes or
a reasonable amount of bail.
The Rotarians will issue warrants. So if there is someone that you feel should be
arrested, detained, booked, photographed and in general humiliated you can
have an warrant issued and the Marshalls will do the rest. These Rotarians
realize that not everyone has time for incarceration so they willingly sell “Get
Out of Jail FREE” cards.. The cards are good for the whole week and could save a
great deal of humiliation.
At the end of each day all photos will be uploaded to our Facebook page.
